A rapper on the rise, Ken Carson Jersey is set to embark on his first world tour this summer. He’s already been making waves this year with his single ‘Overseas’, which landed on the Billboard charts.

He’s also dropped the ‘King of Nothing’ mixtape, which features a collaboration with Drake called ‘It’s Never Too Late’.

Born in rural Missouri, Carson left home at 16 to become a mountain man and join fur-trapping expeditions into the Rocky Mountains. He lived among and married into the Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes. During the American Civil War, Carson was a scout and courier. He was renowned for his rescue mission after the Battle of San Pasqual, and his coast-to-coast journey to deliver news from California to Washington, D.C.

He was breveted a brigadier general and took command at Fort Garland, Colorado. Later, he led forces to suppress the Navajo, Mescalero Apache, Kiowa, and Comanche tribes in New Mexico.

Professor Henry Nash Smith’s 1950 classic Virgin Land: American West as Symbol and Myth introduced a new type of study, one that used literature to understand the frontier’s creation myth and symbols. Smith wrote that Carson represented the symbolic mountain man image, first created in James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales and then personified in decades of dime novel heroes. He described Carson as a “pathfinder, Indian fighter, and daredevil horseman” who was the ancestor of the hundreds of two-gun men who peopled dime novels.
