Came across some cool reviews up on Yelp.com about Mission Sk8boards. Thanks to all the fine folks who took a little time to write something nice about the shop. I’ve added a few blurbs below. Click here to read more
“Scott (sic)- one of the shop guys at Mission- hooked me up with a great deck, trucks, and wheels! Put it all together in a jiffy too.
I was additionally stoked to see him interact with a young street rat that was hanging about the shop. Scott was totally cool with the kid – they talked while he put my board together.
So thanks Mission Skateboards – and special props to Scott – for getting me started on my latest obsession, skating. Let’s hope I finally pull a decent ollie before I jack myself up too badly.” -Art O.San Francisco
“They keeps it simple. They keeps it real.” – Wes T.Menlo Park
“Mission Skates is on the rise. Their selection is growing weekly, keep checking back. Friendly service, clean shop. As skate shops go this one is a keeper and I have been to them all, everywhere, forever. So take my word on this one. BONUS POINTS for being so close to the Potrero del Sol Skatepark!!!!!!!!!!” - Steve R.San Francisco
Finally hooked up the Mission Sk8boards twitter account. Follow Mission at http://www.twitter.com/missionsk8brds or @missionsk8brds for news, revery, events info, special secret sales and more.
Stop by the shop and check out the new shirts. Sizes Small to XL, including women’s sizes. There’s three new designs. The Street Sign, The Mission Marquee and Mission Gigantes. New shirts added to the online shop soon (i’ll be changing out the pics prolly tomorrow. I makes a terrible model)
Ch-check it out! Threw together a new Deluxe x Mission flyer thanks to the spanking brand new dlx cafe. @jimt43 hooked it up for all of us designer type folks who need to get logos, rider pics, proddy, etc and made it all accessible and clean and whatnot. The whatnot’s the best part. If you have any idea what I’m talking about, go check it out now and make your flyers fly-er and ‘zines zine-ier.
Don’t forget, this is a real flyer (no pun intended) and yes, there’s a party going on at Mission Sk8boards this friday, October 2nd from 6-10pm.
The first (of hopefully many) ALLEY RAT happened this past Sunday 09/27/09. Check out the pics and the video below. Winners included Andreas for fastest time and Joseph for Best Trick (at all the locations). Losers included the SFPD for punking on Martin, taking him in, socking him in the grill and giving him a resisting arrest ticket at the Bart Street Bank. Weak sauce indeed.
Come by the shop on Friday, Oct. 2nd and come hang out for Mission Skateboards 2-year Anniversary Party. It should be tight. We’re gonna have beer, food, art, boards for sale from 6pm – 10pm. It’s in conjunction with the Balmy Street Block Party.
Mark your calendars kids and grown folk. Mission Sk8boards presents “Alley Rat ‘09″ A jaunt through San Francisco’s Mission district hitting up well known skate spots along the way. Prizes will be given out to best trick at each spot, as well as fastest time for hitting up all five spots and getting your behind back to Mission Skateboards.
Alley Rat starts at 1pm, so try to get to the shop by then for instructions and a list of all spots. It’s a skate timed contest, so no driving allowed. Be there at the shop on Sunday for full rules for the event. Prizes provided courtesy of Mission Sk8boards, Thunder Trucks and Spitfire Wheels.
